2021 Update!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Mar 18, 2021 at 02:44:13 PM

Hey everyone!

Hope you are all doing well!  It has been awhile since I have posted here and just wanted to drop you a line and say hello. Also, I've got some cool Final Fantasy IX sketch art to share with my update!

For the past few months, I've been in the process of relocating back to my home state of Pennsylvania, getting some of my equipment set up, and I haven't had access to my PC to sculpt. So I have been sketching a lot lately. Please follow me on @Archangeldesign3d at Instagram  to see some of those if you like my 2D stuff! All this hasn't slowed me from planning some really cool 3D printed things to work on this year when I am fully back up and capable of printing again! Which is why I have come here seeking your council!

General Ideas for 2021:

I will be working on some character and creature models for the first time this year!  And possibly a very large scale terrain project I have been wanting to design and print for the better part of 2 years. This will include some of the stretch goals I didn't get to in Skyharbor and Forsaken Lands. Everything I sculpt is always based around the games I play or have nostalgia for, so Gothic Victorian and Fantasy Horror are my favorites; I expect a lot of what I choose to make will also fit with my LOTR SBG/ D&D interests akin to Forsaken Lands and Skyharbor and those Western themes. I'd like to improve the designs, and have textured floors with a separated 1" drop down tile grid based on all the excellent critiques and recommendations from backers' of both Forsaken Lands and Skyharbor. My goal is to improve quality, detail and playability with every new sculpt and terrain piece I make and continue to learn better practices and optimization from each set of models I have done.

Test Printers, Painters and Photographers:

I am just starting out in resin printing and I don't know enough about it yet. I was wondering if anyone would like to help me learn how to create supports and better printing practices for 28 mm minis and creatures down the road. If anyone would like to test print, paint and professionally photograph a few STL models for some of these new art adventures I want to try, please let me know in the comments! This may not be until late in the year, depending on how things work out for me, but that's all part of the fun. Thank you all for your support and interest! :)

Merchant Extended License Updates - License open on Backerkit
almost 2 years ago – Fri, Feb 26, 2021 at 10:20:52 AM

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the delay. I have now updated the licensed seller page.

All licenses are now extended to lifetime licenses, and I can continue to add merchants to the website as your information comes in.

Also, for anyone who is interested in getting a license, I have added the pledge to Backerkit as well with this link.

Thank you all so much! I am in the process of relocating, but now have access to email and a PC, so I should be much more available if you have any questions!

Happy Holidays! Special Announcement and secret holiday bonus for All-in Backers!
almost 2 years ago – Sat, Dec 26, 2020 at 09:21:28 PM

Hello Backers!

I hope you are all having a safe and wonderful holiday week!

I have been away from the keyboard for a little while, and just wanted to drop in and say hello to everyone today. I will still be limited in my communication capabilities both on Kickstarter and on social media through the start of the New Year. But I do have some special announcements today for both our all-in pledges and for our merchant pledges!

For all merchants of all Kickstarter sets both past and present, I am going to be extending all license agreements indefinitely. There will be no need to renew after the 2-years for Skyharbor, Forsaken Lands or Midnight City. You can continue to sell these physical models through the future royalty free and in a way that works for you with no expiration! I will be conducting a more in depth survey for all merchant pledges between January and February of 2021. When the time arrives to do a website update, I will add everyone to the Licensed Seller page on! And as always, all photographs from the Kickstarter, website and my Art Station page can be used to showcase the printed pieces!

As for our All-in Skyharbor Pledges, I have a special holiday surprise I am sending out through Backerkit in a few minutes! So check those inboxes when you get a chance for a unique addition to Skyharbor City with this bonus. This is a model I completed earlier in the year, but it will fit in nicely with our current selection. And there will be even more surprises inside the file pack for those who are fans of this very iconic sculpt! I must keep it secret in this update, but I am sure many of you will enjoy this addition and all the unique interior scenery pieces included!

Stay tuned for additional updates, new designs and potential optimization updates in the New Year when I return to my keyboard! Until then, wishing you and your family a very safe and happy holiday season!

Update 13 - All Skyharbor Stretch Goals Arriving!
about 2 years ago – Sun, Nov 29, 2020 at 05:41:36 PM

Hello, Backers!

All of the Skyharbor Stretch Goals should now be in your inboxes and download sets! In addition, for those backers who wanted access to these pieces outside the unlocks included in their pledge level, the Backerkit Preorder Page now includes all 8 pieces ranging from $5.00 to $8.00 for each of the eight add-ons!

Each one has gone through the final checks this past week and through the weekend, and I now have access to an aging laptop, so I am available in a better capacity for managing the pledges and sending out files and information.

This helped me speed up delivery by a week or two earlier than expected, but it is a rather old laptop so I still have limitations using this hardware in what I can do from a distance. Please email me any questions or comments at ArchangelDesign3D at!

As mentioned in the original printing notes for the core set, lower those print speeds where needed for more delicate designs. All stretch goals are also support free designs. Better prints can be achieved by also lowering the jerk speed, and using the latest version of Cura during slicing.

Also, stay tuned for some potential surprises coming along the way as well! :)

I have more things planned outside of our unlocked stretch goals I want to add to this set, but I won't be able to get to them until after the holiday season!

Thank you all so much for your patience and support! ! Happy Holidays to everyone!

Update 12 - Upcoming Holiday Schedule - Stretch Goals - Merchant News Coming Soon!
about 2 years ago – Tue, Nov 24, 2020 at 05:02:12 PM

Hello Backers!

Just a short update today! Stretch goals are nearly done, so expect a few more coming to the inbox on the first and second week of December if all goes as planned.

In addition, starting tomorrow, through the next week, I will not have access to a PC with some holiday plans coming up. I have a few personal things I need to attend to as well in the next few weeks between now and December 31, so my time will be more limited from a communication perspective on all platforms including Facebook and the Kickstarter page.  I will be doing daily check ins when time permits through mobile.

With that said, I have everything in order for stretch goals, so there should be no delays there. I will also have my phone with me at all times, so please email me directly at ArchangelDesign3D at with any questions!

Also, I have some cool news in store for merchants from all my Kickstarter sets coming in the new year, including Skyharbor. If you are a merchant, I will also be doing a website update in January and February, so I can add you to the licensed sellers page on there as well if you send me your info and websites!

Thank you all so much; hope you have a wonderful holiday and I will be in touch as often as I can be over the next 3 weeks! :)
